The Sub Zero Ice Skate Club is located in Ekkamai in the same building at the Major Sukhumvit Cinema. One of the biggest surprises was discovering this ice skating facility in the heart of Bangkok. With two decent-sized skating rinks, it offers a wonderful escape from the hot and muggy afternoons of the city.
Firstly, it’s worth noting that the temperature inside the rink is not as cold as one might expect. It’s more on the cool side, so there’s no need to worry about bringing a heavy jacket or warm clothing. Secondly, remember to bring your own socks. Although they do sell socks at the club for a reasonable price. In addition, it’s always convenient to have your own. Thirdly, while it may not be the best ice rink you’ve ever seen, considering the hot and humid climate of Thailand
Likewise it’s commendable that they provide a space for people who aspire to be ice skaters, offering lessons for beginners, as well as those who simply miss the joy of being on the ice. Personally, it had been a long time since I last put on skates, and I was grateful to find a place where I could skate, even if it was only for two hours.
