Yes, Sam Yaek Bang Yai station is indeed part of the Bangkok MRTA system, specifically on the Purple Line. It serves as a crucial transportation hub in Nonthaburi Province, facilitating travel for residents and visitors along Rattanathibet Road. The Purple Line has been instrumental in enhancing connectivity and easing commuting in the Bangkok metropolitan area.
MRTA Sam Yaek Bang Yai
Navigating through Sam Yaek Bang Yai station is incredibly straightforward. With all signage clearly written in 2-3 languages, finding your way around is a breeze. Moreover, the staff are exceptionally friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, ensuring a pleasurable experience for commuters. I utilized this station on a daily basis for three weeks and found it to be an enjoyable experience overall.
Note that the next station on the rail is the MRTA Bang Yai Market on the one side. The other side is the MRTA Bang Phlu as well. You can look around this rail system to travel around Bangkok.
Restaurants
There are no really good restaurants close to the station. Most of the restaurants are a walk away at the Central Westgate Mall. There is the Real Beef Central Westgate as well as the Oishi Japanese Buffet (Eaterium) Central Westgate as well. Most of these restaurants are located in the Mall.
Hotels
The only hotel in the area or close to the station is the 3-Star Hotel called โรงแรม 13 เหรียญ บางใหญ่ (13 Coins Hotel Bang Yai). This is a budget hotel of around 550 THB per night so don’t expect the Amari. While guests generally appreciated the spaciousness of the rooms, there were some comments about their dated appearance and suggestions for improvements in maintenance. Additionally, a few guests noted that the bathrooms could use some enhancements.
