This article is on Cost of Living in Pattaya – Food. Strange thing is that in 12 years in Thailand I have only met one foreigner who cooked for himself everyday. Most expats tend to buy food of from the food vendors all over the place. Much like Bangkok there are many food vendors in Pattaya and you can get a good, clean and cheap meal for about 40฿. There are also many cheap restaurants such as Tops (supermarket chain) in Pattaya which branch has a restaurant and sells very good and cheap food. Best of all they open early in the morning.
Cost of Living in Pattaya
Most expats in Pattaya either buy their beer at a bar which can be expensive and others buy it at the 7-11 while they sit on Beach Road next to the beach chatting with other foreigners. Much like everywhere else in Thailand your cost of living comes down to how much do you have to spend every month.
Most expats live on pensions in Pattaya or are on long extended vacations. Not many expats eat at the higher end restaurants unless they are having a treat for the month as most simply eat at the local restaurants or as stated above at Tops. The cost of living in Pattaya can be very low if you do not go out at night into the nightlife area. That will cost you a few salaries while you are at it – trust me!
Accommodation is on another page of this website and you can see what the other costs would be while living in Pattaya. Look at what you income is and simply adjust your lifestyle to the means. Likewise also see the Bishamon Sapporo Ramen on here as well as the Ekkamai Bus Station.
